TENSPORTSZONE – The Chinese government gave a stern warning to the United States. This was made by Beijing when the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, planned to visit Taiwan.
In a press conference, Thursday April 7 2022, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said Washington should cancel the planned visit. He also called for any interaction between the United States and the territory it claims to stop.
“The consequences of any visit will be borne by the United States, Washington must cancel the trip,” he said.
Previously, several Japanese and Taiwan media reported that Pelosi would visit Taipei. This news appeared on the sidelines of Pelosi’s visit to Japan, there has been no direct confirmation of this plan, either from the US government or Taiwan.

Pelosi herself is a long-time critic of China, particularly on human rights issues. He is also known to have held a virtual meeting with Taiwanese Vice President William Lai.
Meanwhile, relations between China and Taiwan have been heating up since President Tsai Ing-wen came to power. Tsai is known as a figure who refuses to accept the one-China principle and an individual who is quite close to the US.
This made Beijing very angry. Chinese President Xi Jinping had said that his party would not allow Taiwan to be separated from an integral part of its sovereignty.
In fact, he had threatened all parties who helped Taiwan to become independent.

Most recently, tensions between the two occurred after Chinese warplanes repeatedly entered Taiwan’s airspace.
It is noted that hundreds of air combat fleets from the Bamboo Curtain country have penetrated the island’s air defense zone.
